Susan Bennett

Susan Bennett, APR, CPRC, is a career journalist with more than 50 years of experience as a writer, editor and public relations professional. Her career has included executive positions with Gannett Co., where she served on the launch team of USA TODAY and as Marketing Director of The News-Press in Fort Myers as well as a reporter and editor.  She founded Susan Bennett Marketing & Media, L.C., 31 years ago and has represented hundreds of clients over the years. She is among Florida’s most honored public relations professionals with more than 200 awards for her work, including special commendations from former Presidents Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter.  She was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.

Kate Cimini

Kate Cimini is a bilingual journalist with reporting experience in various regions of the U.S. as well as Europe, Canada, and South America. Since August Kate has been the Florida Investigative Reporter for the USA TODAY network, which includes The News-Press in Fort Myers and the Naples Daily News. Prior to that, she was an investigative and enterprise reporter in California covering agriculture and inequity across the state for the same network and for the nonprofit newsroom CalMatters. There, she won Best of the West and a National Press Foundation award for inequity and agricultural reporting.

A big shout-out to our board members who recruited these highly accomplished journalists. Delia D’Ambra Wheeler encouraged Susan to join, and Laura Greanias recommended that Kate join the club. Welcome, Susan and Kate!
