The comments were unanimous: The club’s luncheon event Feb. 18 featuring legendary journalist Terence Smith was a huge success.
Terence shared entertaining and insightful highlights from his almost five decades in the news media. He covered politics, wars, and other hard-hitting news worldwide for The New York Times, CBS News, followed by The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on PBS.
He is the author of the new book, Four Wars, Five Presidents: A Reporter’s Journey from Jerusalem to Saigon to the White House.
The press club thanks board member Gregg Ramshaw, a former colleague of Terence’s at the NewsHour on PBS, for bringing Terence to Naples. The club also thanks board member and program chair Jill Jaffe for organizing the event.
Next event: Thursday, April 28, at the Tiburon in North Naples, which will be a luncheon in honor of World Press Freedom Day, featuring a panel of experts.
