Please join us on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 7:30 p.m. for the live taping of the Press Club’s Roundtable discussion about the future of local news.
Our guest will be Bill Barker, the former president of Gannett’s Southeast Florida newspapers. In that capacity, Barker oversaw a network of 20 publications, which included the Naples Daily News and the Fort Myers News Press.
Next week’s Roundtable is being organized by Press Club board member Tom Marquardt. Veteran journalists Jay Newman and Mary Ramshaw will join Tom in leading the discussion, which will largely center on the viability of local news in this era of media consolidation and staff cutbacks.
I will moderate the Zoom call, which is open to all members of the Press Club. If you’d like to attend the live taping, please email me at email@example.com and I will send you a Zoom invitation link.
As always, the Roundtable will be shared on the club’s YouTube channel. Click here to view the recent Roundtable on the Attack on the Capitol.
