Did you miss me? Did you notice you have not received a Scoop since early June? Yes, we took a couple of months off. NPC hasn’t held any events since our May season-closing luncheon and our annual board planning retreat, also in May. However, vacation is nearly over, as we start our club’s fall season on October 6.
I realize our first luncheon is a month from now, but if we waited until the October issue of Scoop to get you back in gear, that would be too late. So check out this month’s Scoop to find out more about our October kick-off luncheon at our NEW VENUE, Tiburon Golf Club.

At this writing, our first event at Tiburon—a Happy Hour mixer—lies in the future. But by the time Scoop hits your inbox on September 5, the August 29 mixer will have happened. I feel safe in saying we had a terrific time.
At our September 13 board meeting, one of my most important tasks will be to appoint a nominating committee. The terms of several officers and governors will terminate in December, including mine, so this committee will select my replacement. I am certain I’ll say my “goodbyes” as your president later, but for right now I’ll say only that it has been both an honor and a joy to lead NPC for four years. I don’t believe in dynasties, so it is time for someone else to lead the club to new heights.
If you’d like to be considered for an office, don’t be shy. Let me know, and I’ll pass it along to the nominating committee.
If one of the members of the nominating committee approaches you to take your place as a club leader, please accept. It will mean your talents and enthusiasm have been noticed and appreciated. Serving on the board is FUN!
