Richard Broome, Hertz’ Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Communications, will be the featured speaker at the Press Club of Southwest Florida’s January luncheon.
The event will take place on Thursday, Jan. 22 from 11:30 – 1:30 at the Hilton Naples, 5111 Tamiami Trail North in Naples.

Broome, based at the Hertz’s corporate headquarters in Naples, Fla. is responsible for worldwide internal and external communications, including media affairs. Additionally, Broome manages the company’s global government affairs activities, as well as community relations and corporate philanthropy.
Since joining Hertz in 2000, Broome has led the company’s global internal communication strategy ensuring all employees are fully engaged and aligned around the transformation of Hertz, and to ensure the senior management team understands and can act on employee concerns. Broome has also developed global strategies to promote the Hertz brand in traditional and social media, and also the evolution of the company’s multi-brand strategy with Dollar and Thrifty since 2012. Broome continues to successfully manage efforts to ensure our businesses receive fair treatment in legislative bodies, especially in the U.S and Brussels.
Prior to joining Hertz, Broome served as Vice President, Government Relations and Communications for Selective Insurance Group. He also served as counsel at Aetna and the Connecticut Business and Industry Association. Broome has a B.A. from Bates College and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and he is a member of the Connecticut Bar.
The cost for the luncheon is $25 for NPC members. General admission is $30.
