Married couple John and Mary Anne McKerrow—with special guest (NPC Vice President of Programs) Randall Kenneth Jones—will perform selections from three of their favorite Broadway shows on Saturday, February 15 as part of The Marco Players Lunch Box Series.
All three shows: Little Shop of Horrors, Camelot and Guys and Dolls have special memories for the McKerrows.
They first met in New Haven, CT in 1988 at an audition for Camelot.
In 2004, Guys and Dolls was the first show in which they were both cast—in their new home of Naples, FL.
Finally, John and Mary Anne first performed opposite each other as Seymour and Audrey in The Naples Players’ 2005 production of Little Shop of Horrors.
Randy—a.k.a. the “other” guy—has heard of these shows and will be there too.
According to Jones, “When one is on stage with either of the ridiculously talented McKerrows, one is always going to be nothing more than ‘the other guy.’ But somebody has to entertain the audience while they take breaks backstage to cuddle and sip champagne!”
Produced in conjunction with Shakespeare in Paradise (sipnaples.org), “A Taste of Broadway” will be presented on Saturday, February 15 at the Marco Players Theatre. Doors open at 11:30 AM. Show starts at 12:00 Noon. Cost is $25 — enjoy a Boxed Lunch and a Q&A after the show.
