April 25, our NPC luncheon at the Hilton, will feature a fascinating look at “Modern Journalism” presented by journalism students from Florida Gulf Coast University, which NPC supports with an Endowed Annual Journalism Scholarship. Here’s a taste of what we’ll hear:
Modern journalists have put down the pad and pencil in favor of digital technology. They use state-of-the-art devices and social media to get their messages out quickly to a broad audience. But today’s constantly changing media landscape presents new challenges for information producing and consuming. A panel of FGCU student journalists will discuss and demonstrate how they survive and thrive in this new digital era.
Guests are welcome, so invite your neighbors. Reservations are required for all members and guests. Luncheon cost is $23/NPC members, $28/non-members. Checks or cash accepted at the door (exact change appreciated). When you reserve, select your luncheon entree: Standard: Nicoise salad with your choice of white albacore tuna or grilled chicken breast; OR Vegetarian: Cheese tortellini with Roma tomatoes; Special needs, gluten free, etc. please specify need.
