The Four Cs of NCH Healthcare System’s CEO

More than 80 Press Club of Southwest Florida members and guests gathered to hear from Paul Hiltz, FACHE, the newly named president and CEO of NCH Healthcare System. Hiltz was the featured speaker at a special Press Club of Southwest Florida “Newsmaker” evening program at Tiburon Golf Club on Tuesday, September 24.

NPC Governor-at-Large Board Member and retired CBS News Correspondent Bob Orr introduced Hiltz and then facilitated the Q & A. Hiltz, who previously served as president and CEO of Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio, started his new role at NCH on September 3, 2019.

Even before he officially began his new position, Hiltz had embarked upon a listening tour with employees, doctors, donors, and community and business leaders. Hiltz talked about his four Cs: Corporate culture, Care, Community and Cooperation.  He said corporate culture is a team sport requiring the organization to develop and maintain an attitude of respect and partnership among doctors and employees as they  work together to meet the needs of patients and the community. He is committed to creating an organization that provides world class, quality care and strives to help connect the organization to community partners including, for example, the Neighborhood Health Clinic and the David Lawrence Center. New staff and leadership development initiatives will lead to cooperation internally and externally to achieve system goals today and into the future.

After the program, guests had the opportunity to meet Hiltz and enjoy the Taco Tuesday buffet.
