Here are some books by NPC member/authors popping up lately:
Past President Joan Curley has had her seventh book published, entitled “LUCIAN’S BOAT, The Story of a Boy’s Life by the Sea”. She was inspired to write it while viewing a painting by Tom Cardamone, at the von Liebig Art Center Show. The book, for both parents, and children from grades 4 through high school, tells the story of growth and the continuing cycle of renewal in children’s dreams of the future. The book can be purchased from Curley directly or through the publisher www.authorhouse.com. She and her husband Neil enjoyed a cruise of South America over the holidays.
Nancy Poffenberger attended her first meeting at the recent luncheon. She chatted about her piano fun books that teach keyboard and note reading to four year olds and up – and also her more serious books for kids that explain 9/11 and the War in Iraq in simple, non-threatening terms.
Happy January 13th birthday to Cynthia Bercowetz who has another children’s book on the market, also. She will be signing it at Barnes & Noble, Naples on March 27th from 2 to 4 pm, along with her updated “Scam” book.
Thanks to new Scoopers Joan Curley and Connie Kindsvater for contributing to this column. We need more of you news hounds to keep this interesting. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with your news, tid-bits, ideas, birthdays or… jokes?
