Stan made his singing debut on radio station WGL in Fort Wayne, Ind. at age 7. He maintained his passion for broadcasting as an on-air personality at age 14 for WGL, later becoming a staff announcer during high school. In college, Stan moved on to KBOL in Boulder, Colo. as well as Denver's KOSI and KTLN, and later WANE in Ft. Wayne.

Stan served in the Army as a public information officer and did daily broadcasts.

Stan also announced for the Paul Harvey show during each of his many appearances in Ft. Wayne. Stan interviewed Bob Hope, Mickey Rooney, Liberace and his brother George. Stan's spot and voiceover work includes training videos for HOST Carpet Cleaning, Hadinger Carpets, Sears and Honeywell. He handled sound engineering for The Kingston Trio. Stan handled radio and personal appearances in Ft. Wayne for Hefner Chevrolet as well as the Crosby Brothers when they were in town.
