Rob was engaged in the radio broadcasting industry for over 40 years, starting in local sales and working up to managing local and national sales departments, programming, and station ownership.
He worked for several broadcasting companies including ABC, Fritz, Infinity, Citadel, and Cumulus, before starting his own radio program syndication company with its most prominent program - ‘The Handyman Show with Glenn Haege’ - airing on over 200 radio stations nationwide.
Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Rob graduated from the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University, which named him an ‘Outstanding Alumni’ and as a recipient of the University’s ‘Alumni Service Award’.
His long and successful broadcasting career was recognized by his professional colleagues with his induction into the Michigan Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2017.
Outside of the media industry, Rob was appointed as an Honorary Consul for Grenada and served as Vice-Dean of the Consular Corps in Michigan.
His wife, Marcia, was employed by Hormel Foods for her entire work career and retired in 2015.
The Hon. Rob David and his wife are Florida residents and enjoy their summer months in Michigan.
