A Unique Perspective of Healthcare in SW FL

Mara Hammond

When you talk to Mara Hammond for the first time, you’ll quickly realize she is a remarkable person, and not for just one reason, but for many. Hammond is NCH’s Chief Impact Officer and the Press Club’s newsmaker speaker for the luncheon on April 9th.

First impressions usually stick, and Hammond exemplifies this well. She’s intelligent, of course, but also an empathetic listener and a calm, thoughtful voice that doesn’t need a megaphone to be heard because people want to listen to her thoughts. Hammond is intentional, and her intentions are for the good of our community.

Hammond’s journey to become NCH’s Chief Impact Officer is as fascinating as it is unusual. It began in California but took her to Israel to study Hebrew and Arabic. She served in the Israeli Defense Forces as an intelligence officer. When she speaks at the luncheon, perhaps someone will ask her how her service in the IDF applies to what she does now. She will explain how her intelligence role contributed to her success in consulting and sustainable growth initiatives with prestigious clients like Stanford University and Denver Health. While consulting with NCH, she saw its potential to serve a unique and growing area. It impressed her so much that she wanted to be a part of building something that would benefit everyone.

As Chief Impact Officer, Hammond’s role is to look ahead and anticipate future health and medical needs. As she will explain, we are entering a new era that people should feel prepared and excited about. Hammond will demonstrate how the area will grow and what it will require to maintain and enhance our quality of life.
