Department of “Well Said”…

Jim Sheeler, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, on his appointment to the faculty at Case Western Reserve University, speaking about a profession undergoing at least a midlife crisis:
"A notebook is a passport to all sorts of  places…Journalists will discover someway or other to make good money on the Internet. And if they don't, journalism is a life skill: learning to meet people, interview them, research facts, record them and spread them."
Sheeler has written several books including "Obit: Inspirational Stories of Everyday People who Led Extraordinary Lives" and "Final Salute: A Story of Unfinished Lives."

CWRU has no journalism department or degree. Sheeler works in the English department as its only full-time journalism professor .
