Biographical Info
I was born and raised in Dearborn, MI and in 1970 graduated with a B.S. in journalism from Central Michigan University.
I worked at two Michigan newspapers before moving to The (Annapolis, MD) Capital as its managing editor.
During my 35 years there I also served as executive editor and finally as editor and publisher until I retired in 2012.
I was admitted to the Central Michigan University Journalism Hall of Fame and the Maryland-Delaware-DC Press Association Hall of Fame. Sigma Delta Chi gave me its First Amendment Award for my work on Maryland’s Open Meetings Act.
My wife and I moved to Naples in 2016 where I continued to write a syndicated wine column.
