Nicholas G. Penniman IV retired in 1999 as publisher of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and senior vice president of newspaper operations for Pulitzer Publisher Company.
A graduate of Princeton University (Religion), he did graduate work at the Wharton Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania (Finance) and at Washington University St. Louis with a master of arts degree in American Culture Studies in 2000.
Penniman has been deeply involved in environmental advocacy currently as a trustee of the Everglades Foundation, past chair of American Rivers and as chair emeritus of The Conservancy of Southwest Florida. He is a registered Florida Master Naturalist.
Married for 47 years, he and his wife Linda have two children and five grandchildren. They reside in Naples, Florida.
