Biographical Info
Mary spent her career as a journalist – a Washington correspondent, editor and bureau chief for 30 years – and as the top digital editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette from 2004 to 2013. Her career spanned three decades in Washington, D.C., where she covered seven presidents and dozens of political campaigns, Congress, social and gender issues, two Gulf wars, and the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01. She was a writer and editor of Dow-Jones’s weekly National Observer newspaper; a reporter and bureau chief for the Detroit News; deputy bureau chief for New York Newsday; and deputy bureau chief and senior correspondent for the Boston Globe.
