Jill has held executive communications positions with several corporations and consultancies in Chicago, Atlanta, and Silicon Valley. She holds a Master of Science degree in Journalism  from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. from the University of Memphis. She also was a professor at Bradley University, where she taught crisis communications.

She serves on the board of the Northwestern University Alumni Club of Greater Naples and volunteers for several cultural arts organizations.
