Biographical Info
Founding member of the NPC, Fritzi Thorner, an emigrant from Germany, found two loves: the Brooklyn Dodgers and radio broadcasting.
She won a coveted spot in the All-City Radio Workshop. She honed her skills as an honor scholarship student at NYU’s School of Radio.
Thorner worked as producer/director/actress for the Voice of America until it merged into the USIS and relocated to Washington, D.C.
Married to optometrist Gerald Thorner, she has two children. Thorner enjoys creating logos, leaflets and flyers for local charities. She also serves on the Board of the Parkinson’s Association of Southwest Florida for whom she is a passionate advocate.
