Please join us for our final luncheon meeting of the season on Thursday, May 1, at the beautiful new AC Marriott Hotel in downtown Naples.
We’ll be celebrating World Press Freedom Day, an annual event honoring the importance of journalists protecting democratic values and fostering informed societies around the world.
Press Club president Tom Doerr will moderate a discussion of how challenges to the First Amendment are impacting local journalism. Media panelists include Chris Cifatte, WINK News Anchor; Cindy McCurry-Ross, The News-Press Executive Editor; and David Dorsey, Gulfshore Business Magazine Senior Editor. State and local media issues to be addressed range from defamation to censorship to sunshine laws.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., and the luncheon runs from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $45 for members and $60 for guests. Reservations must be made via Eventbrite by clicking here or by sending an email to RSVP@pressclubswfl.org by April 24. If you have special dietary needs, let us know in your email.
Seating is limited, and all reservations must be made no later than April 24. So reserve your spot today!
The AC Marriott Hotel is located at 455 12th Street South (at the corner of 5th Avenue South and Goodlette-Frank Road), and free parking is abundant. The event will be held in the Capri Room on the first floor.
We hope to see you there!
