In a rare joint appearance on the eve of Florida’s presidential primary, the chairs of Collier County’s Republican and Democratic parties share our stage to discuss preparations for the primary, their parties’ plans and positions and — wait for it! — yes, what they share in common as we head into the hottest part of the political season.

Annisa Karim
Annisa Karim is the chair of the Collier County Democratic Party. A graduate of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL, she is a professional environmentalist and has served as Lee County Manager of Parks and Recreation since 2016.
Russell Tuff
Russell Tuff is the chair of the Collier County Republicans. Originally from Minnesota, he has a background in media, working his way up from his parents’ weekly newspaper in Blackduck, MN. After moving to Florida in 1989, he served as publisher of the Everglades Echo, the Golden Gate Gazette, Golf Naples Times and founded the Collier Citizen. He also held a variety of positions in other local publications. Russell currently runs his own public relations firm, Social-Impact.
