New Scholarship Donor Opportunity: “Beuth-Matching Funds for New Donors”

Press Club member and former Scholarship Chair, Phil Beuth, has announced a new “Beuth-Matching Funds” campaign. Every new donor donation of $25 or more will be matched, up to $5,000 total. This program “is to inspire new gifts,” says Beuth. “Every dollar makes a difference!”

To donate, send a check made payable to “Champions for Learning” in any amount, $25 or more, with the memo line notation “Press Club Scholarship Fund.” Mail checks to Scholarship Chairman Connie Kindsvater, 1345 Remington Way #4202, Naples, FL 34110-0939. All donor checks will be sent with a cover letter to Champions for Learning, and all donors will receive a 501 C-3 tax-deduction letter from Champions for Learning.

The press club has been offering $1,000 annual renewable journalism scholarships since 2001 to local high school graduating students and those already attending college, helping them pursue an education in journalism/media studies. The club currently supports 10 journalism students. Helping aspiring journalists through scholarships and mentoring is a key component of the mission of the Press Club of Southwest Florida. Since 2007, the Press Club and members have given over $100,000 in scholarship support to our 80 chosen scholarship students. Please join us in fulfilling this important mission by making a donation today.
