The literary talents of Southwest Florida’s own authors will be on display at this year’s Press Club of Southwest Florida Book Fair on Saturday, Nov. 21.
“This is a great opportunity to enjoy some good reading, meet our local authors, contribute to a worthy cause and do your holiday book shopping all at once,” said Carole Greene, president of the Press Club of Southwest Florida, the sponsor and organizer of the event. The Naples Daily News and Champions for Learning, a non-profit organization that promotes education, are sponsoring partners.
The fair will take place at the Barnes & Noble book store in the Waterside Shops, at 5377 Tamiami Trail N, Naples, Fla., (at the corner of Pine Ridge Rd. and Rt. 41).
Twenty authors will be on hand to sign their books, make brief presentations about their work and answer questions.
The author signing and presentation part of the program will run from 4 pm to 7:30 pm.
Sales of the authors’ books – and sales of other books throughout the day – will benefit the Press Club of Southwest Florida’s Terrence J. Miller Scholarship Fund for aspiring journalism students. Customers buying any book at the store that day have only to present a number at the cash register to have a portion of the purchase go toward the Scholarship Fund.
The Press Club of Southwest Florida is an association of active and retired journalists and other media professionals that encourages excellence in journalism and journalism education, networking, engagement with newsmakers and community service.
