Oscar Santiago (Golden Gate HS 2011), one of our Press Club of Southwest Florida Scholarship Students, attended the June 20th NPC Mixer and shared some of his recent activities. In May he attended the Florida Model Legislature as a member of the Press Corp. In June he presented the Florida College System Student Government Association (FCSSGA) District One Biggest Impact Award to Dr. Jeffery Allbritten, President, Edison State College. Also in June, he assisted in the Project HOPE Scholarship Orientation for new students. And, he designed the 6th Annual Collier Leadership Retreat Program for the Edison State College Collier Campus, which will be held on July 26th.

Oscar enrolled at Edison State College for his freshman and sophomore years; he recently transferred to FGCU and will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. He plans to join the staff of the Eagle News at FGCU and hopes to be able to attend at least one of the NPC Luncheon meetings this year and meet more of the NPC members.
