Mar. 17, 2010: Honor the Free Press Day Luncheon

The ET Brisson Detachment, Marine Corps League of Naples, requests your attendance at the sixth Annual “Honor the Free Press Day”, Wednesday, March 17, 2010.

This year’s honoree is Jim Lehrer, executive editor and anchor of Newshour, Public Broadcast System.

 

Recognized as one of the nation’s most respected and trusted journalists, Lehrer is the recipient of numerous awards, including the presidential National Humanities Medal. Referred to as the “Dean of Moderators” for his role moderating 11 nationally-televised presidential candidate debates in the last six elections, Lehrer rose to national prominence in 1973, when he teamed up with Robert McNeil to cover the Senate Watergate hearings. A prolific writer, Lehrer is the author of 20 novels, 2 memoirs and 3 plays. Mr. Lehrer is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

The lunchoen will be held at the Hilton Hotel, 5111 Tamiami Trail North, Naples, Florida. Doors open at 10:45 a.m., and luncheon is served promptly at 11:00 a.m. Reservations in advance only please, (sorry, no walk-ins).
